Class #6: Student Presentation

Content

The objective of the group assignment is to allow students to explore in more detail a case of their own. Students are invited to select a firm and present how this firm use the technologies of the e-commerce to create and capture value. Although the focus is on a particular firm, the team must present how the firm perform relative to the others in its industry.

You should select your case according to your interests and comparative advantage (special connections or past experiences). It can be anything related to e-commerce from the traditional store opening its web site to e-markets and e-intermediaries. Avoidable the very well known cases: Dell, Amazon, e-Bay, etc. especially those seen in class.

The presentation must describe the e-commerce project, how the firm exploit the technology to create value, how the firm expects to capture this value, how it compares to other firms in the industry (are they followers, leaders, etc?). What general lessons can be learned from this case? Your presentations will ultimately be evaluated according to how much we have learned from it.
