Get involved

FIMES is a new group which currently only has limited resources. If you would like to participate in the FIMES mission, we suggest four possible ways:

Membership:

You can become a member of the group by making a suggested donation of CAN $ 40.00 per year (US $ 30.00), or more (or less) according to your financial resources.

You may also decide to sponsor a specific project, which particularly appeals to you.

From CAN $100 to $1000

• You will participate in the group's activities
• You will receive regular announcements by email
• If you wish, your name, first name, professional title and country of origin will be included in the membership list posted on the website.
• You will receive a tax receipt

From CAN $1000 to $100 000

• All the aforementioned benefits
• The book "Ethics ans spirituality at work" autographed by T.C. Pauchant
• Recognition by HEC Montreal: the sponsor is invited to special events such as wine-tasting and cocktail parties and the sponsor's name will be featured in the annual report of the school
• Access and borrower's card for the HEC library, the largest business library in North America
• Depending on the nature of the project, your name may be mentioned as a sponsor in the published report, or on the website of the project

We suggest the following projects:

• Sponsoring the International Forums or of the distinguished conferences on "The search for meaning in work"

• Sponsoring of a student in one of HEC's programs, leading to a research project on ethics and spirituality in the workplace.
  
  
• Sponsoring a specific project being undertaken by FIMES. See "research underway"

Volunteer work :

You may also work as a volunteer on one or some of the group's projects.

Below, we list different projects, which we consider priorities, but you could suggest other projects of your choosing.

Prioritized projects:

• Assistance for sponsoring or donations
  
  
• Spanish translation of the book: "Ethics and spiritulity at work".
  
  
• Critical reviews of books and scientific articles about the integration of ethics and spirituality in the workplace to be included in the annotated bibliography.
  
  
• Development of the FIMES' network in Quebec, Canada, in the U.S. or in other countries.
  
  
• Any other project for which you would like to become a volunteer.
  
  

Donations:

We are currently involved in a financing campaign to fund the creation of an academic chair at HEC Montreal in "Ethics and spirit at work". The creation of such a chair is invaluable in order to develop high-caliber scientific work. The existence of this university chair would be a first in a management school anywhere in the world. The creation of a university chair requires a significant investment of at least $1.5 million Canadian. This amount would be invested and the chair would receive a regular financing, generated through interest income, of about $100 000 Canadian, per year. This amount would enable the undertaking of high-level research projects on the integration of ethics and spirituality in organizational settings and in the economic system in general.
