This tool allows users to create and post messages. It is often
confounded with the discussion board. While both allow the publication
of messages, they do not have the same function. The objective of
Announcements is to notify users about a message of general interest.
In general, announcements are short. For example, a user may notify
teammates that a meeting for a project will be the next day. It is not
possible to post a reply to an annoucement. On the other hand, the
discussion board is meant for debate and discussion. ADD AN ANNOUNCEMENT
On the original template, Annoucements are on the top left of the home
page. To post a new announcement, click on "Add new announcement". You are now ready to write the announcement. Title: Choose a short but revealing title. Body: It is the text of the announcement. Expires: It is the expiration date of the announcement. The announcement will disappear from the home page past its expiration date. However, it will always remain accessible by clicking on the Announcements section. If you believe that it is important for the announcement to remain on the home page for an unlimited duration, do not put an expiration date. Once you have finished writing the announcement, click on the button "OK" to publish it. VIEW ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS
If the wepart ''Annoucements'' is displayed on the homepage, you can
click directly on it. It is important to note that not all items
are displayed on the home page due to lack of space, but by
clicking on ''Annoucements''. you will be able to view all of them.
If it is not on the homepage, you can view them by clicking on
''View All Site Content'' on the Quick Launch (top left of the page).You can now see all the announcements. Section 2: Using a WSS Site |
