The Omer DeSerres Chair is a major institution in the retailing  field in Canada; This is mainly due to the financing efforts of the Omer DeSerres foundation of which it carries the name, and of the government of our province. It is also due to the energy and talent of the previous chairholders professors Gunnar Sletmo and Jacques Nantel as well as to the co-workers of the Chair. 

The mission of the Chair is to enhance the place of the retail trade: education, professional seminars, academic research and continuous and intense cooperation with private companies are instruments used by the chair to reach it’s goal. 

We, at the Omer DeSerres Chair of Retailing, always try to spread the knowledge and experince of eminent specialists of the domain through the CPHEC, we also help graduate students to realize their theses on practical, pertinent and topical subjects related to the retailing area . 

The Chair is a bridge between the academic and business worlds. We are proud that it had up to now an active and considerable impact on both of them.
