The
Ivey Purchasing Managers Index measures
the monthly dollar purchasing variations as indicated
by a group of 175 participants chosen by region and
by field of activity, in order to represent the
Canadian economy as a whole. The Ivey Purchasing
Management Index is sponsored jointly by the Richard
Ivey School of Business at the University of Western
Ontario and the Purchasing Management Association of
Canada (PMAC).
PMAC (Purchasing
Management Association of Canada)
Purchasing Management
Association of Canada (PMAC) is
the most important supply chain management
professionals association in Canada. It has
approximately 7 000 members.
The training and continuous education programs for
the members are provided by the regional branches
with the support of PMAC Institutes and National
offices.
CISM (Canadian
Institute for Supply Management)
The Canadian Institute for
Supply Management (CISM) is
a purchasing and supply management professionals
association in Canada.
CISM is affiliated to ISM (Institute for Supply Management),
located in the US.

to the sophistication of consumers demands. The

named Center for Advanced Purchasing Research) is a
non-profit organization jointly financed by W. P.
Carey School of Business of Arizona State University
and the Institute for Supply Management. Its research
are oriented towards the Strategic Management of
Purchasing.
