THE VIRTUAL WORLD OF INSURANCE
AND RISK MANAGEMENT |
We have visited the Web site of IMPACTNOFAULT.COM IMPACTNOFAULT.COM is a website designed by Insurance Bureau of Canada to help learning more about the current no-fault automobile insurance plan. Here are the six main sections : – The Current Plan : seven Q&A to learn more about the current plan. – The Main Issues : twelve Q&A to understand the issues at the heart of this reform. – Summary : some reasons for keeping the current automobile insurance plan. – A Few Figures : statistics on criminal drivers; there is no evi-dence that the government reform will change their behaviour. – In The Press : over the last months, a number of journalists and experts have weighed in on the government’s plans for the automobile insurance system. Why Should We Be Worried? A question from Jacques Valotaire, chair of the IBC-Québec Committee, to understand what the proposed changes may entail. He believes that the Government is taking the wrong approach by its intention of changing the No-Fault plan when it could use other means to achieve its goals, notably exploring the possibility of revising the Highway Safety Code and the Criminal Code. He is of the opinion that the government is planning to make changes that will cause more problems than they will solve. ________________________________________________
